We are looking for a LEAD LIGHTING ARTIST to head the lighting department in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, focusing on a new animated series. The ideal candidate not only has a great eye for light but also understands the pace of an animated series production, communicates well with other departments, and helps their team shine.
Your Role
* Supervise and guide the lighting team throughout the entire production.
* Create and maintain visual consistency of lighting across episodes.
* Design lighting setups that adhere to the series' style.
* Work closely with the compositing, layout, and look development departments.
* Maintain fluid and constant communication with the CG Supervisor to align artistic and technical decisions.
* Review shots, provide artistic and technical feedback, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
* Collaborate with production to estimate times, identify problems, and propose solutions.
* Be a positive and resourceful point of contact for the team.
* Mentor, guide, and develop the team of artists, sharing knowledge and fostering a learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience as a Lead or Senior Lighting Artist in animation projects (series, film, or cinematics)
* Solid proficiency with Redshift render engines.
* Mastery of Maya.
* Strong foundation in compositing (ideally with Nuke)
* Ability to plan, communicate, and coordinate with various departments.
* Proactive, collaborative, and constructive attitude.
* Functional level of English (for communication in multicultural environments).
Nice-to-have
* Experience in children's series or with stylized aesthetics.
* A keen eye for visual storytelling and color.
* Knowledge of shot (Shotgrid) and asset management tools.
