ATLANTIS ANIMATION
is an animation studio based in the heavenly Canary Island of Tenerife. A combination of creative talent and technology definitely distinguishes us as a different studio to produce high quality animated series and feature films. We produced the sensational series Tara Duncan and Miraculous Ladybug season 5, both broadcasted on Disney Channel and Disney +, and we are currently producing the series Messi & the Giants for Sony Pictures TV Kids.

We are looking for a talented
Mid-level Layout Artist
with a strong foundation in visual storytelling and 3D workflows. The idóneo candidate will bring both technical expertise and artistic sensibility to help establish the visual language of our scenes.

From as soon as possible until August 2026 approximately
Location:
100% On-site in Tenerife. Remote work won't be possible for this position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Translates storyboards/ sketches into 3D sequence of shots;
- Determines camera composition, angles and movement;
- Environment blocking and creating backgrounds that support the narrative of the story;
- Creates basic blocking for all characters and props.
- Setting the camera path & defining the perspective of a scene;
- Ensuring continuity between shots;
- Creates sequences of shots that convey the storyline, ensuring the vision of the Director and Layout Supervisor are resolved.
- May create rough pre-visualization models and environments to facilitate animation

Requirements:
- Level: Mid-level: 3-5 years of experience
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Maya
- Strong understanding of cinematography, including camera placement, movement, and lens choices
- Solid grasp of composition and visual storytelling principles to support narrative flow
- Experience with basic lighting setups and understanding of rendering concepts
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in file and scene management
- Ability to interpret scripts and storyboards, translating them into engaging 3D layouts
- Understanding of real-world scale, proportions, and spatial relationships
- Experience in asset management, scene assembly, and optimization for performance
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in animation pipelines
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment.
- A valid EU/Spanish work permit is required.
