Job description
We are looking for a skilled and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our team in Tenerife. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working in dynamic environments and supporting creative teams in high-performance production contexts.
You’ll be responsible for supporting the studio, ensuring the stability and performance of our technical infrastructure. This is a hands-on role that requires initiative, technical versatility, and the ability to operate autonomously across our facilities and data centers.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide IT support to users on-site and remotely (Mac & Windows environments).
Manage Active Directory, LDAP, and Group Policy configurations.
* Handle NAS and SMB shared folder permissions and structures.
Set up and maintain Hyper-V virtual environments.
* Support network infrastructure including IP addressing, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Configure and manage remote desktop environments (PCoIP protocols, HP Anyware, Parsec).
* Maintain PCs, servers, and hardware across the studio and ITER data centre.
* Perform regular data backups and manage LTO tape libraries.
* Monitor and support software used in VFX production: Nuke, Houdini, Maya, Deadline (a plus).
* Contribute to automating tasks through scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
* Occasionally travel between studio and ITER for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in IT support or system administration, ideally in a creative or production environment.
* Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
* Solid understanding of virtualisation (MS Hyper-V) and network configurations.
* Experience working with or supporting VFX software and render farm infrastructure is a bonus.
* A proactive, calm problem solver who thrives under pressure and enjoys helping others.
Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities across locations.
* Proficiency in written and spoken English.
