**Competitive Research Directorate - Grants Management (Post-Award) Unit**

Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes and develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. VHIR is oriented towards finding solutions to the health problems of the citizens and has the will to contribute to the scientific, educational, social and economic development within its area of competence.

The Competitive Research Directorate will support the scientific community at Vall d’Hebron throughout the full lifecycle of competitive projects. This Directorate encourages and supports researchers in the pursuit of competitive funding for research, detecting opportunities and contributing to the development of quality proposals, and the successful implementation of granted projects.

Under the leadership of the Competitive Projects Directorate, the Grants Management (Post-Award) Unit provides financial follow-up, guidance on regulations compliance, and post-award management of grant-funded projects for the best research outcomes. The aim of the Unit is to ensure grant-management efficiency and financial sustainability, while maximizing the impact of grant-funded research.

We are currently looking for 1 motivated person to join the team as post-award administrative assistant specialized in national grants.

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:

- Advanced vocational training (CFGS/FPII) in Accounting, Finance, Administration or related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Catalan and/or Spanish.

**Desired**:

- University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or related.
- Additional training in competitive research projects.
- Good level of English will be valued.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required**:

- Minimum 1 year of work experience in administrative support to management of research grants
- Experience in information management and organisation
- Personal skills:

- Well-organised
- Meticulous, close attention to detail
- Proactive and results-oriented
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and relational skills

**Desired**:

- Experience in research institutions in the biomedical sector
- Experience managing grants of European (H2020, Horizon Europe, etc.) or international origin

**Main responsibilities and duties**:

- Administrative assistance to the monitoring of granted projects, the management of budgets and the preparation of financial reports.
- Organisation and monitoring of paperwork and electronic documents related to research grants.
- Maintenance and update of the grants database for accurate activity reports.
- Promoting compliance with institutional policies and sponsoring agency regulations and policies.
- Contributing to the improvement of internal procedures.
- Any other duties related to the job as requested to contribute to the general functioning of the Competitive Research Directorate.

**Labour conditions**:

- Full-time: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
