The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is involved in European HPC initiatives. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into computer and computational science, with over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
The Education and Training Team, within the Director’s Department, coordinates training and education activities, conducts educational research, and develops collaborations with leading HPC centers and universities. The team contributes to regional, national, and European projects, including Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence, EUMaster4HPC, EuroCC2, CASTIEL2, and EVITA.
We are seeking two Training Officers to support administrative tasks for the Education and Training Team. The main responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of training events, supporting international programs and projects, and assisting in the preparation of proposals and training materials.
Key Duties:
* Collaborate with the team to achieve HPC education and training goals across various projects.
* Support the organization of courses, meetings, and training events.
* Contribute to improving policies, procedures, and documentation.
* Manage training facilities and market training opportunities.
* Assist in preparing international project proposals related to HPC education.
* Provide on-site support for training events and activities.
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor or Higher Education Certificate in Business Administration or related field.
* Experience: 2-3 years in administration roles.
* Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, survey administration, reporting skills, high level of Spanish (oral and written).
* Additional: Knowledge of public systems or research centers is a plus.
* Competencies: Goal-oriented, able to complete tasks on schedule, independent, team player, organized, structured planning skills.
Conditions:
* Location: BSC, within the department.
* Contract: Full-time (37.5h/week), open-ended, with benefits including training, health insurance, and relocation support.
* Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus additional days during Christmas.
* Start date: ASAP.
