We are looking for a Senior Accountant & Tax Advisor to join our team. The role is based in our Santa Cruz de Tenerife office, working with an international client portfolio in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Please only local candidates are invited to apply, thanks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Spanish accounting (PGC), tax preparation, and financial analysis, with hands-on experience in tools such as A3 Soc and Xero. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities for growth based on performance. The key points are:
* Oversee compliance with new invoicing regulations, ensuring the use of certified invoicing systems in line with the latest legal requirements.
* Lead the implementation and management of systems that guarantee compliance with Ley Crea y Crece and reporting to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT).
* Provide guidance and training to team members on adapting to new fiscal and invoicing regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Direct the new process for verifactu, training clients, employees, and managing the challenge of change.
* Manage and oversee accounting processes and client portfolios.
* Prepare and review financial statements and cyclical audits.
* Handle tax filings, including VAT, IS, IGIC, Intrastat, and others.
* Conduct and review bank reconciliations and manage banking relations.
* Ensure compliance with Spanish accounting standards (PGC) and international client requirements.
* Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and tax consulting, ideally in a consultancy or international firm.
* Proven expertise in A3 Soc and Xero.
* Fluent in English (our primary working language).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on leadership and team management.
* Exceptional ability to analyze and interpret financial data and produce high-quality reports.
* Proficient in Google Workspace tools and general IT systems.
