Role Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated
Junior Sous Chef
to join our culinary team at Surfescape La Oliva.
As a Junior Sous Chef, you will assist in daily kitchen operations, support the Head Chef in menu planning and execution, and ensure the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic hospitality environment, perfect for someone passionate about creative, fresh cuisine and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to create menus that reflect our coastal location and international clientele while maintaining efficiency and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and daily operations.
* Prepare high-quality dishes with attention to taste, consistency, and presentation.
* Supervise and support kitchen staff during service to ensure smooth operations.
* Maintain strict food hygiene, health, and safety standards in the kitchen.
* Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and minimize waste.
* Contribute creative ideas for seasonal or special menus.
* Ensure a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment at all times.
* Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Qualifications
* Strong culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
* Understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards.
* Ability to manage time effectively and work well under pressure.
* Creative approach to menu design and presentation.
* Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
* Previous experience in a hospitality or resort setting is highly desirable.
* Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required.
* Good communication skills in Spanish (English is a plus).
