About the role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Controller to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who is eager to contribute to day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and compliance in a dynamic and international environment. You will set up the controls of financial processes across multiple areas including accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and internal reporting. You will play a key role definining our accounting policy and conducting statutory audits.
Location: The role is based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Canary Islands Special Economic Zone (ZEC Canarias), a hub for technology and innovation.

Location: The role is based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Canary Islands Special Economic Zone (ZEC Canarias), a hub for technology and innovation
Responsibilities: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist in maintaining accurate general ledger records
Lead the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and variance analysis
Monitor and support accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure timely and accurate processing of expense reports and vendor payments
Help maintain financial documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
Develop and improve the financial processes and internal controls
Coordinate the audits and respond to audit inquiries as needed
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, HR, Product) to support business needs
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a relevant experience
5–7 years of experience in audit or accounting role
Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)
Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets;
Familiarity with NetSuite ERP Software Suite is of significant value add
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish is a must
Nice to Have: Experience working in a tech, fintech or SaaS company
Knowledge of local Spanish accounting/tax practices
Exposure to financial and accounting audits in Spain
Familiarity with international financial operations (e.g., multi-currency, intercompany transactions, payment processing)
