Position Summary
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves and utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication standards. Display knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and cleanup of repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform inventory duties related to housekeeping and engineering.
Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance. Repair landscaping and external sprinklers. Demonstrate basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
Follow safety policies, report hazards, complete safety training, and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Provide excellent guest service, support team goals, and communicate professionally. Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, moving objects, and working on stairs or ladders. Use computers for work-related information and perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
* High school diploma or G.E.D.
* Experience in maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
* Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
