Descripción

A globally operating technology company specialized in advanced metrology solutions for the semiconductor industry. Leveraging proprietary wavefront phase imaging technology, their systems deliver nanometric precision in wafer characterization—including shape, uniformity, nanotopography, and surface roughness—in a single acquisition. With a strong presence across Asia, Europe, and North America, they serve the most demanding environments in semiconductor manufacturing and R&D. The company fosters a collaborative and innovation-driven culture, bridging scientific research with industrial performance.

Mission
The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting the deployment, optimization, and advanced use of high-resolution metrology systems across customer environments. Acting as a key technical interface between clients and internal teams, this role ensures the successful integration and sustained performance of the systems throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will drive technical collaborations, lead evaluation and acceptance processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of products through customer feedback and application insights.

Responsibilities
Customer Support and Application Engineering

Provide technical assistance to customer R&D and engineering teams, supporting tool setup, measurement execution, and data analysis.

Conduct tool demonstrations, performance evaluations, and benchmarking against customer requirements.

Deliver customer training, technical reports, and application documentation.

Participate in post-sales activities including remote and on-site troubleshooting.

Manage and execute Fab Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and related validation processes.

Project and Stakeholder Management

Act as technical lead or project coordinator for customer-focused and internal development projects.

Monitor project progress, manage milestones, and coordinate multi-disciplinary contributors.

Prepare regular updates and elevate risks with mitigation plans when necessary.

Product Development and Internal Collaboration

Collaborate with R&D and Product Development teams to adapt systems to customer-specific requirements.

Translate field experience and customer feedback into actionable insights for future product improvement.

Co-author technical papers and represent the company at technical conferences and industry events.

Field Activities and Operational Requirements

Support field installation, testing, debugging, and optimization of systems at customer sites.

Work in cleanroom environments under strict safety protocols and physical demands, including wearing PPE and handling up to 12 kg of equipment.

In exceptional cases, participate in shift work or weekend support during critical escalations (on a voluntary and compensated basis).

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in application engineering, semiconductor metrology, process development, or device fabrication.

Experience in cleanroom environments and knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing protocols.

Strong communication and customer-facing skills, including technical documentation and presentation.

Willingness to travel internationally up to 30–50% of the time.

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Physically fit for cleanroom work, with no medical restrictions for wearing PPE or lifting up to 12 kg.

Preferred Experience

Familiarity with hybrid bonding, wafer-to-wafer, die-to-wafer, or heterogeneous integration technologies.

Knowledge of optical metrology, process control, or inspection techniques.

Proficiency with technical software tools such as Python, MATLAB, LabView.

Experience managing collaborative or customer-driven technical projects.

Additional languages (Spanish, French) are a plus.
