Summary / Role PurposeThe program manager is responsible for stewarding critical enterprise investments and driving the delivery of strategic and transformational change by providing leadership and direction to assigned programs for
Ansys electronics, fluids or mechanical products.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of large, complex programs, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementationProvide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business modelManage overall program risks and oversee respective mitigation strategiesDevelop resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and for the day-to-day operational activitiesProactively set performance expectations and manage expectations of delivery and requirements, yielding consistent resultsReview program budget variance and scope change requests, and participate in the budget-resolution processEnsure that the scope of the projects within the program align with business prioritiesManage program-level risks and interdependenciesPromote collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholdersLead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork;
drive escalation and resolution of issuesSupport, coach and mentor team membersProvide technical expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of program, projects, and initiativesDirectly facilitate program steering committee meetings and conduct periodic briefings/status updates to various levels of the organization for assigned areas
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and ExperienceBachelor’s degreePMP (Project Management Professional) certificationA minimum of 8 years of project management experience including large-scale complex projects OR equivalent management experienceStrong leadership skills within a matrix organizational structure, along with mature business acumen and industry knowledgeProven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sitesAdept at helping team members harness and develop strengths in pursuit of successful program outcomesAbility to achieve broadly communicated objectives with a minimal amount of supervisionAbility to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead changeAbility to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situationsExcellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions and reach conclusions among peers and team members with differing opinionsStrong analytical and financial skillsAbility to innovate under new and/or changing conditionsProven problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective consultative and influencing approachAbility to maintain focus on deliverables while maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to variables during executionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levelsVirtual and remote team leadership capability
