Your Role as a Data Governance Specialist:You will lead the design and implementation of a modern data governance audit and assurance framework, focused on enabling continuous improvement in data maturity across business domains. Working closely with both business and technical stakeholders, you will ensure governance is not only defined, but effectively operationalised. Design and implement a scalable data governance audit and assurance framework, including controls, tooling, and collaboration mechanisms Integrate governance processes with existing platforms, particularly Collibra and enterprise data catalogues Design and execute baseline data maturity assessments across domains Establish governance controls, monitor progress against targets, and drive remediation actions Develop and refine data governance policies, standards, and procedures Deliver targeted training and enablement to support the adoption of data management roles Engage stakeholders to understand domain-specific challenges and embed governance accordingly Continuously improve governance practices based on feedback, adoption, and measurable outcomes 5+ years' experience in data governance, data management, or related enterprise data environments Proven experience designing or implementing governance frameworks, audits, or maturity models Hands‐on experience with Collibra or similar data governance platforms Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata, lineage, and stewardship Experience integrating governance into tools, processes, and enterprise ecosystems High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to tailor messaging and training to different audiences Experience delivering training, enablement, or change initiatives is advantageous Fully remote, b2b/freelance contracts Access to a network of experienced data, AI, and engineering professionals across Europe If you're looking to shape how data governance is applied in practice at enterprise scale, this role offers both the scope and impact to do so #
