Director of Business Development - Home-based in Spain
We are seeking a driven, self-motivated, sales-oriented, passionate, organized, and determined individual to join our growing team as a Director of Business Development.
As a Business Development Director, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience in the CRO, Pharmaceutical, and Biotech industries.
This role focuses on expanding existing clients, driving new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets.
You will maintain the Salesforce.com database, ensuring all client meetings, RFP information, and updates are accurately captured and maintained. This is essential for the role.
Responsibilities:
1. Client management: Research target market sectors, organizations, and contacts; focus on opening new clients and expanding existing ones aligned with our expertise and goals.
2. Achieve sales targets, client calls, and visits as per plan.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
4. Understand decision-making processes of major sponsors.
5. Share proposal, contract, and RFP details within the team.
6. Develop relationships to generate RFPs.
7. Organize client meetings and industry congresses as needed.
8. Establish contacts with operational departments.
9. Act ethically and follow the sales process.
Proposal Development:
1. Collaborate with functional heads beyond proposal development.
2. Review proposal drafts for strategy and pricing.
3. Support timely delivery of internal proposal information.
4. Interact with clients to gather necessary information.
5. Submit proposals and follow up during the CRO selection process.
Manage and Lead the Bid Defence Process:
1. Draft the BDM slide deck and collaborate cross-functionally.
2. Gather relevant information from sponsors and organize meetings.
3. Prepare rehearsals and ensure effective communication with project teams.
4. Support contract processes and attend conferences and exhibitions.
Maintain Salesforce.com Database:
Ensure all relevant lead, RFP, proposal, email, and meeting information is accurately recorded and updated.
The ideal candidate must:
* Speak fluent French and English; additional languages are a plus.
* Hold a university degree in Natural Sciences, Medicine, Business, or equivalent experience.
* Have at least 3 years of sales experience, preferably within CRO or pharmaceutical sectors.
* Be self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
* Possess strong presentation and writing skills.
