Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter collaborates with Account Management and Business Development teams to build and maintain relationships with brokers to promote profitable growth. The role focuses on transforming broker relationships into trading partnerships, securing profitable renewals, and generating new business aligned with our strategy and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review large, complex, or specialized cases, communicate propositions effectively, and deliver underwriting decisions within agreed timeframes to secure new accounts and profitable renewals within authority and risk limits.
2. Collaborate with Account Managers to develop business plans targeting existing and new opportunities, working as a unified team.
3. Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts to maximize revenue, including reviewing existing business and pursuing new opportunities with colleagues.
4. Utilize all relevant information sources to meet broker and client needs, building long-term trusted relationships to generate and close new and cross-sell opportunities.
5. Negotiate and communicate underwriting decisions following established processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Coordinate with Account Managers and team members to resolve broker and client issues promptly, maintaining relationship quality and continuity.
