What is The Role
You will be a part of the Global HR Operations & Labor Relations team and will partner closely with regional and functional HRBPs, Employee Success and Legal teams. You will be managing the Spanish Works Council, both the internal Works Council relationship as well as any relationship with trade unions on behalf of Elastic.
What You Will Be Doing
* Lead the employee representative processes and strategy for Spain : participating in the set up of the Spanish Works Council, schedule and attend meetings, manage topics, co ordinate internal stakeholders and input relating to Works Council topics, present annual reports and information.
* Educate internal stakeholders on Works Council requirements / best practice.
* Identify opportunities in the HR compliance landscape : create a calendar of meeting regular compliance deadlines / requirements as well as monitor any upcoming changes.
* Manage absence accordingly, ensuring systems are updated, policies are followed and processes are completed on time.
* Ensure timely compliance filings with external bodies as required, including partnering with internal teams to ensure creation of required reports like gender pay or disability hiring.
* Review our HR policies, employment contracts and other employment documentation in partnership with the Benefits, Legal and Compliance teams.
* Assess HR processes and policies against compliance requirements and best market practices. Provide process improvement and policy gap recommendations.
* Support the Labor Relations team across EMEA with tasks and projects as required.
What You Bring
1. The role is based in Spain. Travel within Spain will be required approx once per month.
2. Prior experience of being in a similar role with HR Generalist experience in Spain is essential.
3. 5+ years of experience handling Works Council and Trade Unions in Spain and employment related compliance / reporting obligations in Spain.
4. Considerable experience in employment law in Spain or employment law qualification.
5. Experience handling statutory legal HR documentation in Spain.
6. Prior experience working for a Global Company (and a remote company if possible), with previous experience working across the EME
