FINANCE CONTROLLER – GENETIC TESTING / BIOTECH –BARCELONA FULL TIME- 25, 000€ - 28,000€ (NEG DEPENDANT UPON EXPERIENCE) The Finance Controller is a key member of the Finance department, providing accounting support to the regional office of a UK listed predictive genetics business (GENinCode Plc). This role supports the finance team delivering accurate reporting, cost control, and performance analysis. Key activities include stock control and COGS recognition, supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and general accounting. The Finance Controller will also work closely with other departments to ensure that the correct commercial policies and processes are in place and adhered to. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
* Reporting activities, including but not limited to : a. Support monthly reporting analysis : P&L, Balance and Cash flow – Carry forward. b. Perform variance analysis and provide insights into operational performance c. Monitor and evaluate profitability, margins, and cost efficiency across business units
* Accountancy activities, including but not limited to : a. Maintain stock control and COGS recognition, looking at efficiencies and variance analysis. b. Perform general ledger transaction processing in a timely and accurate manner. c. Prepare month-end close according to company closing schedule. d. Provide accurate and timely accounts reconciliations, including intercompany and general ledger. e. Reconciliation of processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports. f. Support the preparation of tax documentation for filing, liaison with external tax advisors.
* Other activities, including but not limited to : a. To implement and use the ERP automatic processes and “ad hoc” workflow information. b. Support Annual accounts preparation and Audit. c. Writing operating procedures.
* Perform other duties as required by Finance Director (Spain).
* To cooperate with all GENINCODE departments. Education / Essential Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Required Experience
* Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
* Desirable 1-2 years of experience in a financial role or as a finance auditor Required Skills
* Ability to demonstrate good organization and analytical skills, and with attention to detail.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills. Personable and able to communicate with staff of all levels. Able to work cross-functionally.
* Work effectively, independently and under supervision, being able to adapt to fast pace rapidly changing environment. Flexible approach to work and the tasks to be undertaken.
* Proactive mindset
* Investigational and problem-solving skills – root cause analysis. Language Skills Fluent in English (oral and written), main language used within the company for internal communications and QMS documents. Computer Skills
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Desirable ERP SAGE knowledge. The Package
* Up to €28,000 Basic Salary (Neg based upon experience)
