Position Location
The positions are located at NAVSTA ROTA, Child and Youth Program (CYP). They are targeted to students interested in temporary employment within CYP. Teens will be hired to work at the Child Development Center or School Age Care.
Duties
Teen hires will assist in overseeing activities and services for authorized patrons, including providing information on facility and equipment use. They will help in programming, planning, and implementing various activities, ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain cleanliness of facilities, and assist in preparing areas for scheduled events. They may also help in maintaining routine reports, performing clerical tasks, or general maintenance.
RequirementsConditions of Employment
* Applicants must be between 14 and 18 years old, or still enrolled in high school if older.
* Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
* Complete all background checks as per PL 101-647, including Installation Record Checks.
* Obtain necessary immunizations, including the influenza vaccine, as a condition of employment working with children.
* Be physically capable of standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Male candidates aged 18 or older must certify registration with the Selective Service System (proof required).
* Attend the job fair scheduled for 28th March 2025, from 9:30 to 12:30 at School Age Care, Bldg#41.
* Must complete all background checks for child care positions, including fingerprint and state criminal checks, if 18 or older.
Qualifications
Applicants should be between 14 and 18 years old, or still enrolled in high school if older. Ability to learn policies, rules, and regulations of FR, MWR, and CYP, and to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Basic math skills and understanding of recreational equipment and activities are preferred.

No specific education qualifications are required for this position.
Additional Information
The program duration is approximately from 16 June 2025 to 18 July 2025.
