THE BUSINESS
A specialist reinsurance and insurance broking operation with over 15 years of market presence.
The business places complex, high‑value risks into the global insurance and reinsurance market — from single facultative placements to multibillion‑euro portfolio solutions — with particular depth across engineering, power generation, construction, renewable energy and industrial property lines.
Clients include major European industrial groups, energy companies, construction contractors and risk managers operating at the highest levels of the global market. Market access spans Lloyd's/London, Europe, Singapore, New York, Bermuda and beyond.
The team is small and senior. That is deliberate. The culture is one of excellence, accountability and genuine client partnership.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will co‑lead the business from day one.
This means owning client relationships, executing the full placing cycle — underwriting submissions, carrier negotiations, policy documentation and claims — and actively developing new business.
You will also manage the team and contribute to strategic direction.
The transition to the principal MD role will be structured, agreed and genuine. This is not a “maybe someday” conversation.
THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for a senior reinsurance professional with:
* A minimum of 10 years in specialist reinsurance or insurance broking — engineering, construction, power generation or industrial property lines preferred
* A proven track record of independent client management and complex risk placement at senior level
* The commercial credibility and personal gravitas to lead client relationships at board level
* An engineering qualification or background — formal or through deep practical experience — is highly desirable but not an absolute requirement
* Multilingual capability is a significant advantage: English is essential, and German and/or Spanish will meaningfully expand your impact in this role
* Existing relationships across the global carrier and reinsurance market are a plus
* Above all, an entrepreneurial mindset — the ambition to run a business, not just work in one
Location is flexible: Munich, Madrid or London will all be considered.
