3D Lighting & Compositing Artist

We are looking for a talented 3D LIGHTING & COMPOSITING ARTIST to join our lighting department in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, focusing on a new animated series. The idóneo candidate has a great eye for light, color, and visual storytelling, understands the fast pace of episodic production, and has a strong technical foundation to seamlessly handle pre-compositing tasks before handing shots over to the Comp team.
/ YOUR ROLE:
- Light and render 3D shots for a high-quality animated series, strictly adhering to the art direction and master lighting setups provided by the Lead Lighter.
- Take ownership of the pre-compositing phase using Nuke, building solid foundations for the final Compositing department.
- Optimize render times and troubleshoot technical issues in lighting files to ensure quotas and production deadlines are met.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Compositing, Layout, and Look Development departments to ensure a smooth pipeline workflow.
- Participate in dailies, take artistic and technical feedback from the Lead/Supervisor, and apply changes efficiently.
- Maintain fluid communication with your Lead and the production team to flag potential issues and propose creative or technical solutions.
/ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Proven experience as a Lighting Artist in 3D animation projects (series, film, or cinematics).
- Solid proficiency with Redshift render engines.
- Mastery of Maya.
- Strong skills in Nuke, specifically focused on pre-compositing (assembling render passes, basic color corrections, and preparing scripts for the Comp team).
- Ability to work efficiently under the structured deadlines of a series production.
- Proactive, collaborative, and constructive attitude with a strong team-player mindset.
- Functional level of English (for communication in multicultural environments).
/ NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Previous experience in children's series or projects with highly stylized aesthetics.
- A keen eye for traditional cinematography, lighting, and color theory.
- Knowledge of shot (Shotgrid) and asset management tools.

- Working shift: Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 16.00, Friday 08.00 to 14.00.
