A highly autonomous, hands‑on commercial builder who can open markets from scratch, connect with industrial and R&D customers, and turn complex SOEC technology into real commercial traction for Kerionics.

About us

At Kerionics, we work to accelerate industrial decarbonisation through high‑temperature SOEC electrolyzers capable of producing hydrogen with maximum energy efficiency.

We are a deep‑tech company born at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, UPV–CSIC). We are developing technology that will enable the replacement of natural gas in energy‑intensive processes, especially in sectors such as:

* Steel Production
* Petrochemical
* Cement Production
* Ceramic & Glass
* Paper Production

We are designing technology to solve real challenges in industries that need to decarbonise complex processes without losing competitiveness.

What we are looking for

We are looking for the person who will build and execute Kerionics’ first commercial strategy: someone capable of opening new markets, generating real opportunities, and positioning our technology in front of key players in industry and innovation.

In the first phase of this role, your main priority will be commercialising our test bench systems to research centres, innovation labs, and engineering groups across Europe. Industrial sales will become a key focus as we scale.

You will play a key role in identifying early adopters across research centres, engineering firms, and industrial companies in sectors such as steel, cement, petrochemical, ceramics, glass, and paper; primarily in Spain and across Europe.

This will be the first commercial role in the company, so we need someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty, dive into the field, and build everything from the ground up.

Why this role matters (and what's in it for you)

Accelerated professional growth
As our first commercial hire, you’ll gain end‑to‑end ownership of the sales function in record time. Within 24 months, you could be leading a commercial team, defining go‑to‑market strategy for industrial‑scale projects, and playing a key role in Kerionics' growth trajectory. You’ll compress 5 years of learning into 2.

Unique technical learning
You'll work directly with scientists and engineers developing cutting‑edge SOEC technology, gaining deep expertise in hydrogen, electrochemistry, and industrial decarbonisation, knowledge that positions you at the forefront of one of Europe’s most strategic sectors.

Real impact
Every sale you close directly contributes to decarbonising energy‑intensive industries. You’re not selling widgets; you’re enabling steel plants, cement factories, and chemical facilities to transition away from fossil fuels. Your work has measurable environmental and industrial impact.

What we are

We are a multicultural team of more than 25 people united by one purpose: building a more sustainable future through technological innovation.

Scientists, engineers and business professionals passionate about transforming scientific knowledge into real industrial impact.

What will you do

Your mission will be to bring our technology to the market and secure Kerionics’ first customers.

Business Development & Sales

* Identify, contact, and qualify potential customers across both R&D ecosystems and energy‑intensive industries.
* Generate new opportunities through direct outreach (emails, calls, technical prospecting).

Full Sales Cycle Management

* Lead discovery, technical coordination, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
* Identify relevant use cases in industrial sectors where hydrogen can have a direct impact.

Building the Commercial Function

* Create our first commercial processes, documentation, pipeline structure, CRM system, and reporting framework.

Market Strategy

* Define priority segments: research, engineering, industrial environments, and within the latter the key sectors mentioned above.
* Develop the go‑to‑market approach for test benches and early pre‑commercial systems.

Technical Coordination

* Translate industrial customer needs into clear technical requirements.

Market Intelligence

* Analyse decarbonisation trends in energy‑intensive industries, identifying emerging opportunities.

What we expect from you in your first 12 months

• Sell 4 test bench systems to qualified customers (research centres, engineering firms, or energy‑intensive industries) by December 2026.

• Build a structured sales pipeline with opportunities across our key strategic sectors.

• Design and implement Kerionics’ full commercial infrastructure, including tools, processes, materials, CRM, and reporting.

• Generate strong, qualified opportunities for our 30 kW pre‑commercial system, and potentially close at least one project.

• Provide continuous market insights on industrial decarbonisation, hydrogen adoption, and customer needs to support product positioning and roadmap decisions.

• Position yourself as Kerionics' commercial lead, ready to scale the function as we grow into industrial deployments.

• If this excites you, you’re a great fit.

How we work

Our work happens very close to the product: laboratory, workshop, prototypes, testing, and validation. This means our commercial team also stays close to the technology, understanding it firsthand and collaborating directly with the engineers and scientists who build it. For that reason, we work on‑site at the Parque Tecnològic de Paterna, where decisions move fast and conversations happen face‑to‑face.

We work with a strong sense of ownership. Everyone at Kerionics builds something from scratch, and this role is no exception. If you enjoy creating your own playbook, engaging directly with customers, and turning technical innovation into real commercial traction, this is the right environment for you.

We usually start early (around 7:30), which allows us to enjoy free evenings for sports, family time, or whatever inspires you outside of work. We believe deeply in work–life balance, and our extended holiday policy reflects that. Our eNPS of 62.5, far above the standard range, speaks to the sense of purpose, commitment, and belonging within the team.

If you’re the kind of person who thrives in early‑stage environments, enjoys being close to the product, and wants to build a commercial function from the ground up, you’ll feel completely aligned with how we work.

What we ask for

Essential requirements (must‑haves)

These are the fundamentals, we cannot move forward without them:

* Fluency in Spanish and English, as you will operate in a multicultural and international context.
* Living in Valencia, or willingness to relocate within 6–8 weeks.
* Valid work permit in Spain.
* 3+ years of experience in a similar commercial or business development position.
* Proven ability to generate new business from scratch (not just managing inbound or existing accounts).
* Strong outbound communication skills: calls, emails, and direct outreach.
* Demonstrated autonomy and comfort working without established processes.
* A strong commercial mindset with the ability to understand and communicate technical value propositions.
* Availability to travel when required for client meetings, demos, or site visits.

Nice to have (a strong plus, but not mandatory)

* Experience selling technical products or solutions (industrial, engineering, scientific, or energy‑related).
* Experience in startups or early‑stage environments.
* Familiarity with research centres, innovation departments, or R&D ecosystems.
* Experience building sales processes or implementing CRM systems.
* Additional European languages.
* Exposure to the hydrogen, energy, cleantech, or industrial technology sectors.

What we offer

* Up to €38K gross per year, depending on experience.
* 22 working days of holiday plus an additional Christmas break.
* A unique opportunity to shape the commercial function of a scaling deep‑tech company from day one.
* Rapid learning curve: compress years of commercial experience into months by working across the full sales cycle.
* Direct contribution to industrial decarbonisation, your work will have measurable environmental impact.
* Cross‑learning sessions with engineers and scientists, gaining expertise in hydrogen technology that few commercial professionals have.
* Language lessons if you need to strengthen your language skills.
* Annual training budget based on your needs and opportunities within the company.
* A unique opportunity to grow your career in a company that is scaling up rapidly, where your contributions will directly influence our first SOEC products and future industrial plant.
* Enrichment through cultural diversity: you will work alongside colleagues from India, UK, Poland, France, Pakistan, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador… different perspectives, shared values.
* Every Friday, from 11:00 to 12:00, we take a break to enjoy a good esmorzaret, a moment to disconnect, laugh, and celebrate the week’s small wins.
* The opportunity to contribute to a strategic project in the hydrogen sector.
* Direct contribution to industrial decarbonisation through the SOEC technology.

How will be the selection process

1) A first chat with our People & Culture team to get to know each other.

2) A conversation with your future manager to assess technical and operational alignment.

3) A meeting with our CEO to dive into your vision, ambitions and how they align with Kerionics’ mission and long‑term strategy.

If everything aligns, we aim to make an offer as soon as possible, ideally within 3–4 weeks from first contact.

At Kerionics, we firmly believe in equal opportunities. All candidates will be considered regardless of origin, identity, or personal circumstances, including disability. We value diversity as a driver of innovation and growth. If you have a disability and need any adjustment during the recruitment process, we will be happy to support you. You can contact us at confidentially.

We make everything possible.

We speak up.

We get curious.

We’ve got each other’s backs.

We value every background.

We own it.

We learn from our mistakes.

We care about people, impact and safety.
