Position Overview The Commercial Project Manager (CPM) is responsible for the completion of all commercial/financial related matters that contribute to the success of our long-term Healthineers Enterprise Services (ES) Value Partnership contracts. Furthermore, the CPM supports the respective Project Manager and Commercial Project Director in all other areas with the objective of executing the project according to the defined Project Management (PM) standards, customer requirements, and the applicable Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG). A professional collaboration between the CPM and the Project Manager and Commercial Project Director are key for the overall project success.
The CPM ensures the accuracy of project books and records, including recording of such in the appropriate ERP system (i.e. SAP). Duties include order booking, revenue recognition, cost controlling, month end closing activities, data analysis and reporting, as well as budgeting and forecasting for all main project KPIs. This role requires an excellent balance of financial expertise and organization skills, as well as the ability to set schedules and prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities
Shares and supports ownership with the Project Manager and Commercial Project Director and accountability for the management and oversight of a project throughout its lifecycle
Takes care of all financial tasks for the relevant project(s)
Is responsible for order booking, customer billing, tracking of payment, supplier purchase orders, recording revenue, and cost controlling throughout the project execution phase
Ensures the accuracy of project books and records, ensures compliance with financial reporting guidelines, including correct accounting and reporting for orders, revenue, cost, profit, balance sheet and cash flow
As part of the month end closing, posts journal entries and performs account reconciliations
Performs Project Reporting and Controlling activities, e.g. financial planning, forecasting, controlling and variance analysis
Works with the project financial model and ensures integrity of revenue, cost and cash flow projections
In collaboration with the operations team, identifies, evaluates and assesses risks and opportunities, as well as any risk mitigation strategies
Proactively builds relationships with customer's financial representatives
Involved in process improvement tasks
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
5+ years of operational experience in commercial project management, preferably in healthcare, infrastructure or public-private partnerships
Commercial Project Management certification required
Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial management of complex projects
Ability to balance the big-picture, long-term project success with day-to-day tasks of revenue, expenditures and cash flow in order to provide well-informed decision support about emerging opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
Ability to understand complex situations quickly, e.g. contracts, financial models, operational changes
Strong communication skills required to successfully collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders as well as suppliers and customer representatives
Advanced skills in SAP/ERP systems
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications
Skills, Education, And Experience That Are Considered An Asset
Completion of PMP Certification or in progress will be considered
Obtained CPA Designation (or in progress)
Experience in healthcare, infrastructure or public-private partnerships
