Canterbury School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated SENCO (Orientador/a) to join our supportive and student-focused team. The successful candidate will work across all school departments, from Pre-Nursery (age 2) through to Year 13, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
This is a part-time position (27.5 hours per week). Salary is in accordance with the relevant collective agreement (Convenio colectivo nacional de centros de enseñanza privada de régimen general o enseñanza reglada sin ningún nivel concertado ni subvencionado).
Candidates must hold a Spanish passport or have valid permission to live and work in Spain.
Key Responsibilities
The SENCO will:
* Identify, assess, and monitor pupils with SEN across the whole school, providing socio-psycho-pedagogical assessment and reporting.
* Design and oversee individual learning plans and interventions to reduce the attainment gap.
* Provide psycho-pedagogical counselling to pupils, parents, and staff.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, heads of department, and the management team to develop and implement effective SEN strategies.
* Liaise with external professionals and ensure appropriate support is provided.
* Support teachers with classroom strategies, behavioural management techniques, and differentiation.
* Ensure SEN pupils' needs are met during assessments and examinations.
* Maintain thorough records and contribute to whole-school inclusion policies.

Person Specification
Essential:
* A university degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology (Psicología o Psicopedagogía).
* A Master's in Teacher Training (Máster en Formación del Profesorado) or equivalent.
* Minimum of 2 years' professional experience, preferably in a school setting and with pupils across a wide age range.
* High level of proficiency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
* Experience working within both the Spanish and British educational systems.
* Previous SENCO or equivalent role experience.
