At North York General, our team is making a world of difference.Position SummaryThis position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.On a practical level, you will :
Sign out a wide range of Diagnostic Pathology and / or Hematopathology cases.Participate in rounds presentations, teaching and collaborative clinical research.Maintain a high standard of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.QualificationsThe successful individual will be a licensed physician, or eligible for licensure, in the province of Ontario;
hold or be eligible forRoyal College Certification in Anatomic or General Pathology or Hematopathology;
and will have (or be eligible for) an academic appointment with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.Experience and / or expertise in Hematopathology (i.E., bone marrows, lymph nodes, blood smears, transfusion medicine) will be considered as an asset.As the successful candidate, you will possess a passion for service excellence and demonstrate a commitment to quality healthcare delivery and patient safety and support the academic mandate of the organization.You will possess a strong history of collegiality with co-workers and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuing medical education.What We OfferWorking at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada’s leading hospitals.
