Why settle for a standard studio environment when you can work in paradise? 3 Doubles is a creative powerhouse located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. 3 Doubles Producciones pride ourselves on a culture that prioritizes the artist’s well-being as much as the final render.
- The Afternoon Revolution: We operate on an intensive morning shift. By starting at 7:30 AM and finishing at 3:00 PM, we ensure our team has their entire afternoon to enjoy the island’s beaches, hiking trails, and vibrant local culture. This is true work-life balance.
- Your Voice Matters: In our studio, you are an architect of the project, not just a cog in a machine. We foster an environment where ideas are welcomed, and innovation is rewarded.
- A Hub of Innovation: Join a studio that is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in European animation, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and a collaborative spirit.
The Lead 3D Animator occupies a critical space in the pipeline. You are the “operational bridge” between the Animation Supervisor’s high-level vision and the daily execution by the team. You must be as comfortable performing high-level acting shots as you are conducting a technical workshop for junior artists.
- Acting & Mechanics: You will lead the team in achieving nuanced character performances. Whether it is a subtle facial twitch or a high-octane action sequence, you ensure the 12 Principles of Animation are applied with precision.
- Style Calibration: Every project has a soul. You are responsible for maintaining the specific artistic style of the show, ensuring that the “animation language” remains consistent across all artists and sequences.
- Directing Vision: You translate the Director’s notes into actionable feedback, ensuring that the narrative and emotional intentions of the storyboard are flawlessly captured in 3D space.
- The Mentor Mindset: You are a natural teacher. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement by providing direct artistic and technical support.
- Workshops & Dailies: You lead reviews and conduct internal workshops to elevate the team’s skill set. Your feedback is clear, methodical, and often delivered through draw-overs or technical demonstrations.
- Positive Atmosphere: As a leader, you are responsible for maintaining a high-energy, collaborative, and positive environment, even during the most challenging production phases.
3. Technical Strategy & Collaboration
- Problem Solving: You are the primary troubleshooter for animation-specific technical challenges. From rig limitations to software bottlenecks, you find solutions that keep the production moving.
- Pipeline Synergy: You will collaborate closely with the Layout department to ensure scene staging is optimal and with the Rigging department to provide feedback on character functionality.
- Budget Awareness: You balance the desire for artistic perfection with the realities of the project’s scope and budget, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.
Lead & Inspire: Manage a team of animators, assigning shots based on individual strengths and project priorities.
Quality Control: Review all shots before they reach the Animation Supervisor, acting as the first line of defense for quality and technical accuracy.
Operational Bridge: Communicate daily tasks and targets to the team, ensuring everyone is aligned with the production schedule.
Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining animation bibles and style guides for the project.
Recruitment Support: Occasionally assist the production team in assessing potential new talent through reel reviews and technical interviews.
