JOB DESCRIPTION Title Teacher of Science Department Science Reports to Head of Science Location International College Spain Purpose Whether it is encouraging intellectual curiosity in our youngest students as they ask big questions about the world, or advising a Grade 12 IB student on the fine tuning of their Internal Assessment data, our Science teachers play a core role in building students' knowledge, skills and appreciation of the world around them. With the opportunity to work within a creative and forward looking STEM faculty, this post is perfect for teachers who are keen to share ideas, learn from others and set the highest expectations of themselves and their classes. All our Science teachers adopt an interdisciplinary approach, modelling to students and colleagues the links within and between the Sciences, Maths, Technology and the broader curriculum. With a degree in one of the three core Sciences, and an internationally recognised teaching qualification, the teacher of Science will be responsible for students' learning and progress across the full age and ability range within the school.Practical, hands on learning is encouraged, requiring Science teachers to be confident and enthusiastic about conducting experiments and demonstrations with their classes, and willing to support children in gaining experience of practical as well as theoretical approaches to the subject.
