About Evansville State Hospital:
Evansville State Hospital is one of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospitals who are committed to the mission of Hope and Recovery. Residing on 88 acres on the east side of Evansville, Ind., our facility provides medical treatment for chronic mental illness and substance abuse disorders from our dedicated team of psychiatrists and advanced practice professionals. Active Treatment helps our patients achieve their goals directed towards living in the most non-restrictive environment possible.
Our team of professionals assist our patients in the treatment process involving medical staff, nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation therapy and our community integration program. Evansville State Hospital continues to maintain accreditation through The Joint Commission as an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital as well as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services certification as a Psychiatric Medicare/Medicaid Hospital.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,588.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
* Authorize the accuracy of all orders received in the storeroom and authorize all goods received.
* Contact vendors regarding partial shipments and/or misorders.
* Maintained detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.
* Evaluate and recognize record-keeping or storage procedures as necessary.
* Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.
* Make recommendations on purchase of new equipment for warehouse and maintenance required in building.
* Oversee and assembles equipment received in "knocked down" condition.
* May ensure the security of incarcerated individuals staff assigned to the warehouse.

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
* Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures, consumption rates of stored items and inventory control procedures.
* Thorough knowledge of stock items, their locations and the proper methods of storing a variety of goods and supplies based upon efficient space utilization and a variety of state and federal regulations.
* Effective communication skills.
* Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing foodstuffs and perishables.
* Ability to train inmates and staff in proper operation of all equipment and proper methods of storage.
* Ability to maintain detailed, accurate inventory and purchasing records.
* Ability to operate forklift, hand-truck and other mechanical equipment in warehouse.
* Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
