A Day in the Life
Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) is where it all started in Medtronic. We are designing, producing, selling, and servicing implants and technologies for cardiac rhythm disorders as well as heart failure. Examples are implantable monitors/loop recorders, pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, telecardiology equipment. Innovation is key in Medtronic, and to optimally serve doctors and patients, the product pipeline is in continuous evolution. CRM is offering a wide product portfolio to (cardiac) surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and electrophysiologists for state-of-the-art treatment of cardiac diseases.
As a Sales Representative within the Cardiac Rhythm Management Team, you will be responsible to maintain and develop Cardiac Rhythm Management business with existing and new customers in line with the Iberia Business Manager and business strategies in your defined sales territory while meeting or exceeding financial and non-financial targets, in a way that enhances Medtronic’s reputation in the market. The working territory will be the Canary Islands (Tenerife and Lanzarote), and you will be preferably located in Tenerife.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Analyze the marketplace, develop an effective territory/account sales strategy, and present the strategy to management to gain approval for implementation
- Perform all activities to maximize sales (in line with the sales strategy), from product introduction and presentation to contract negotiation. As well as identify, prepare, and execute upcoming tenders
- Identify and address all key decision makers (clinical, administrative/economic) and key opinion leaders in all accounts and report on them via the provided systems and personally to the district manager on a regular basis
- Further increase penetration in existing accounts, develop existing accounts into potential new product therapies/patient therapies, and develop actual non-buying accounts
- Provide technical support to customers (i.e., physicians, consultants, cardiologists) and support procedures when required, and ensure that consignment and all other stock levels are properly controlled, according to the asset management guidelines and targets
- Plan and prepare sales forecasts by account, product, and therapy for the territory along with proposed meetings/customer activities and investments
- Report and regularly update all accounts, market and competitive information, and trends and metrics in a comprehensive, complete, and timely fashion.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- University degree in Health sciences (biomedical engineering, electrical, IT, natural sciences, or other relevant degree)
- At least 5 years of selling experience in the medical device industry, preferably with cardiac rhythm devices
- Willingness to work with physicians, nurses, and hospital technicians
- Willingness to provide expert technical support in the operating room in the hospitals
- Fluent English and Spanish (both written and spoken); Computer literacy
- Communication skills and motivation to build strong business relationship with customers; Teamwork, proactivity and focus on delivering results
- Clean driving license.
