Senior Health and Safety Manager, Health and Safety M / F

As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager within the Amazon Fulfilment Centre (FC), your role is crucial in driving safety improvements on-site and regionally. You will help colleagues uphold high standards and foster a culture of safety and inclusivity.
The successful candidate will identify, coordinate, and implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements by collaborating with Operations Management teams to enhance the Fulfilment Centre's functionality and service levels.
Customer Fulfilment (CF) is the backbone of Amazon, evolving from a small team of booksellers to a global operation handling over 1.5 million orders daily. Our team continuously diversifies and improves offerings through emerging technology, aiming to deliver a broader product range quickly and affordably.
Key job responsibilities
You will manage various aspects of your area, including personnel management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements. Your duties will include:
* Managing the health and safety functions at the FC, including supervising staff to meet objectives.
* Engaging in collaborative health and safety projects across all operational sites.
* Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to stakeholders within your responsibility.
* Reviewing and auditing health & safety management arrangements and improving them as needed.
* Developing strategies to organize work systems that reduce health & safety risks, including recommending adaptations to plant, machinery, and processes.
* Ensuring robust reporting systems for H&S statistics are in place.
* Providing management information and statistics related to your area.
* Supporting business change through effective change management in a fast-paced FC environment.
* Driving behavioral culture change across a large, multi-shift operation.
* Implementing and reviewing global safety policies to ensure compliance with local legislation.

Your role is vital in ensuring employee safety, satisfaction, wellbeing, and productivity. You will take ownership of health and safety initiatives to foster a safety-first culture.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
* Education to degree level and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (specializations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) under Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
* Relevant experience managing a team.
* Experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
* Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
* Qualifications or experience in sustainability.
* Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
* Chartered membership of a relevant Human Resources or safety industry body (e.g., IOSH).
