Fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice law in Spain with a Master of Law degree or higher.
Ten (10) or more years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in an in-house environment within Construction, Oil & Energy, or Renewables & Environment sectors.
Native in Spanish.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Reporting Line
The role is part of the Global Legal Department (GLD) and reports directly to the Regional Legal Team (Iberia & Italy, Middle East & Anglophone Africa Region).
Job Responsibilities
1. Oversee and deliver all legal services for the zone, including domestic and international bids, with a focus on commercial contract review.
2. Provide high-quality, timely legal advice on areas such as property matters, general commercial transactions, and product issues.
3. Negotiate contracts and deals on behalf of the company.
4. Manage claims and litigation oversight and reporting.
5. Support transversal activities and assist other regional legal team members as needed.
6. Guide managers on compliance with rules and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
1. Support local commercial and procurement functions with contractual matters, including drafting and negotiating various contracts.
2. Develop policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance, or regulatory affairs.
3. Review tenders and contracts, support negotiations, and prepare template agreements and T&Cs.
4. Monitor and improve contract compliance and provide recommendations.
5. Collaborate with other teams such as finance and tax on contract negotiations.
6. Maintain contractual records and manage disputes and litigation.
7. Participate in legal training activities.
