About the Role
As part of our ongoing efforts for continuous improvement through the execution of our Digital Lifestyle strategy, this role is responsible for managing the technical and functional bridge between tax assurance processes and tools within each OpCo and delivered to HQ. The main objectives include:
* Supporting the management of Tax Reporting procedures and deliverables to ensure high quality and timely outputs.
* Assisting in implementing improved and standardized tax reporting processes across the group to foster cross-functional and cross-technical synergies.
* Being accountable for the accuracy of tax figures reported internally and externally, understanding their detailed composition.
* Supporting change management and stakeholder alignment by promoting a culture of tax operational excellence.
In this role, you will add value by collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of high-quality project activities, taking responsibility for end-to-end processes to meet overall objectives.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the management of Group Tax Reporting deliverables in terms of timing and quality.
* Reviewing deliverables from OpCos and initiating clarifications or adjustments as necessary.
* Reviewing tax-related disclosures and statements.
* Supporting the implementation of improved tax reporting solutions across the group.
* Standardizing local tax reporting processes within each OpCo, providing Millicom-specific templates and tools.
* Assisting other departments (e.g., Accounting, Financial Planning) with tax issues arising from routine and non-routine transactions.
* Communicating group highlights to key stakeholders throughout the year.
* Serving as the primary contact for relevant tax matters for OpCo tax managers.
* Ensuring SOX compliance across OpCos, Group, and HQ by managing process improvements.
Qualifications and skills include a minimum of 5 years' experience in regional or HQ tax teams, proficiency in financial and accounting systems (Oracle eBS, HFM, SAP), and fluency in Spanish and English. Certifications in finance or tax are a plus. The candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
