About The Role
Our client is seeking a talented composer to create an original score for a film that runs approximately 2 minutes and 45 seconds, with additional music needed for credits. This project follows Pierre, a sickly man who betrays his lover to seek an angelic blessing that might heal him.
The score should blend orchestral / classical elements with modern influences, incorporating cinematic tones for calmer scenes and high-energy, intense compositions for action-packed moments like a sword fight and transformation. Church-like elements, such as an organ used in a fantastical manner, are also desired. The music will be based on the 3D pre-visualisation reel to align with the final runtime, which is unlikely to deviate from the storyboard.
This is a student film, so budget constraints exist, but rates are negotiable for the right candidate. The target completion date is the end of February, with potential flexibility into March if needed.
Requirements
* Proven experience composing orchestral and modern cinematic music
* Familiarity with blending traditional and modern instruments (e.g., orchestral strings, organ, modern percussion, guitar)
* Ability to create dynamic compositions ranging from mysterious and cinematic to intense and high-energy
* Understanding of video game or film scoring with influences like Ultrakill, Elden Ring, or Daniel Pemberton
