OfficeThe Technical Application Scientist - Clinical Sequencing is part of the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG) at Thermo Fisher Scientific. LSG offers a broad portfolio in life sciences, a strong presence in research and development, excellent web and e-commerce channels, leading on-site supply centers, and experienced sales and support teams.How will you make an impact?
Location:
This hybrid role requires 4 days onsite at one of the following locations:
Alcobendas (Madrid, Spain), Paisley (UK), or Milan (Italy). No relocation assistance is provided.Responsibilities:
Provide technical support using all available resources, collaborating with experts within the organization to resolve issues.Work with Clinical and Field Application Scientists to support Ion and Oncomine Assays, assisting with customer projects and providing technical expertise.Accurately document customer interactions and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.Gather market and technological trends, creating technical tips, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.Update knowledge databases and contribute to departmental meetings.Perform other related tasks as needed.Travel may be required.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field;
Master’s or PhD preferred.At least 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably with NGS and oncology sequencing.Experience in clinical laboratories or research environments using NGS technologies.Customer service experience is a plus.Proficiency in English;
additional European languages are advantageous.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of NGS instruments, especially Ion Torrent and Oncomine Assays.Understanding of clinical oncology principles and bioinformatics tools.Strong communication skills, ability to learn quickly, and multitasking abilities.Awareness of regulatory requirements in clinical diagnostics.
