Overview
We are looking for a senior, confident Technical Payments Business Analyst.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who can speak credibly with client stakeholders about complex payment flows, APIs, and processor integrations.
You will be responsible for translating business needs into actionable technical requirements, ensuring alignment between payment logic and system workflows.
Responsibilities
* Gather, analyze, and document technical requirements for payment-driven systems, focusing on authorisations, clearing, and settlement processes.
* Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to design and refine end-to-end transaction and processor workflows.
* Map data and payment flows, define business rules, and ensure traceability from source to settlement layers.
* Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and review sessions in agile or hybrid methodologies.
* Document system processes and audit-relevant traceability for compliance.
* Facilitate testing and validation through detailed requirement documentation and user acceptance criteria.
Qualifications
* Senior Experience: 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in technical or financial environments.
* Card Payments Expertise: Strong professional experience in card payments.
* Core Payment Processes: In-depth knowledge of authorisation, clearing, and settlement processes.
* Processor & Workflow Management: Experience working directly with payment processors and complex transaction workflows.
* API & Systems Integration: Familiarity with API integrations and experience with card management systems.
* Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to project confidence and credibility when presenting technical concepts to clients.
* Agile Proficiency: Skilled in requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, and process visualization using tools like Jira or Confluence.
Preferred / Nice to Have
* Pismo Platform Experience: Direct experience with the Pismo platform is strongly preferred.
* Architecture Knowledge: If no direct Pismo experience, candidates must demonstrate strong relevant payment architecture knowledge and the ability to quickly master Pismo APIs.
* Client-Facing Delivery: Proven experience working on high-stakes, client-facing implementation projects.
* Compliance: Familiarity with audit or regulatory workflows within the financial sector.

Work Model
Regular travel to Switzerland is required, especially early in the engagement (potentially every other week initially) to facilitate close collaboration with client stakeholders.
