Job Description
Atlantis Animation is looking for a skilled and passionate Mid-level 2D FX Artist to join their growing team for the upcoming series Messi and the Giants. This is a high-profile international 3D project, blending imaginative storytelling, strong character development, and top-quality animation.
As a 2D FX Artist, you will be responsible for animating the visual effects in the project, with a focus on explosions, smoke, flames, electricity, stylised magic, and other elemental effects.
Type of contract: Fixed-term Employee contract.
Location: Preferably on-site in Tenerife. Remote work may be considered as long as you are a Canarian resident or if you’re willing to register your residence (empadronamiento) in Tenerife, as this is a key requirement for this position.
Main Responsibilities
* Proven experience as a 2D FX Artist on a fully 3D animated series or feature film is required.
* Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Toon Boom Harmony, After Effects, TVPaint, or similar.
* Solid artistic eye for motion, shape, timing, and visual impact.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to different artistic styles.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written).
* A valid EU/Spanish work permit is required.
* Ability to work either on-site in our Tenerife studio or remotely, provided the candidate is officially registered (empadronado) in the Canary Islands.

In this course, we’ll learn how to animate action scenes by designing engaging animated characters, refining animation effects, and creating dynamic shots that showcase a character in motion.
In this course, we’ll focus on 2D animation acting by developing your ability to bring characters to life through emotion and expression. We’ll learn how to work with references, analyze the emotions of our characters, and apply these insights to create authentic, heartfelt performances that connect with the audience.

This term, our Short Film Creation course takes on its biggest challenge yet: animating a Critical Role teaser trailer. Students will collaborate as a full production team—animators, artists, and composers—building the project from concept to final cut. It’s fandom, craft, and industry-level storytelling all in one epic experience.
Student need to have the knowlegde found in out first two animation course to qualify. Please submit your portfolio to enroll in the course.
