Think Ahead Education is a group in the international education sector with three education branches: Virtus College, the most personalised British school in the Spanish market; Think Ahead Academy, a top academic tutoring centre in Madrid; and IB Wave, our online tutoring platform that connects IB students with the best tutors.
Our team currently consists of a group of young professionals, with a native level of English and ample experience in the IGCSE, A-Level and IB curriculums. We have teachers from 10 different nationalities working with us, with the common goal of maximising the potential of our students.
What would you do at Think Ahead Education?
Key objectives of the role:
- To ensure the highest standards of academic quality throughout Think Ahead Academy and IB Wave.
- To provide strong academic leadership, guiding and supporting educators to achieve excellence in teaching and student outcomes.
- To foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning practices within both institutions.
- To support the strategic development of educational programmes and initiatives across Think Ahead Academy and IB Wave.
Specific responsibilities at Think Ahead Academy and IB Wave
- Liaison with the Think Ahead Education Director to manage the Educational Calendar of Think Ahead Academy.
- Meetings with teachers to get feedback on student performance, and liaison with our client relationship management team regarding this feedback.
- Design and implementation of educational solutions for our students.
- Revision of student progress reports elaborated by teachers.
- Day to day management of the academic needs of teachers and students.
- Onboarding of new teachers: responsible for the teacher’s academic onboarding and training process.
- Creation of teacher evaluation rubrics and control over teacher attainment in order to evaluate each teacher’s individual performance, as well as offering guidance on how each teacher can improve or develop certain aspects of his teaching throughout the academic year.
- Control over the completion and quality of the different Subject Calendars that teachers prepare for the subjects they teach before the start of the academic year in September.
- Worksheets: organise and control the completion and quality of the Worksheets.
- To be up to date on the syllabus changes of the different exam boards, both for the British Curriculum (Edexcel, CIE and AQA), the MYP and the IB.
- Answering all the teacher and student-derived queries related to the educational programmes.
What do we need?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Two years of previous experience occupying a teaching and managerial position within a school or educational institution.
- Prior experience using task-management tools is highly valued.
- Experience and know-how on the IB and British Curriculum.
- Native or excellent oral and written English and Spanish skills.
- Highly organised professional with developed organisational skills and a deep sense of responsibility.
- A candidate with an analytical mindset and problem solving skills.
- A candidate with a vocation for education and engaging personality.
What do we offer?
- Maternity Cover Position. Full time.
- Annual gross salary of 30.000€ for the aforementioned responsibilities.
- Holidays: 24 + 2 (free of choice) + 2 (free of choice during the summer) + 2 (free friday mornings).
- Working Hours: full-time.
- Schedule: It is expected that you attend onsite on Mondays and Wednesdays. The remainder of the schedule allows for remote work, unless there are any scheduled onsite meetings with teachers.
