**The Role**
International College Spain is seeking a committed and enthusiastic **Art Technician** to support the day-to-day operations of our Expressive Arts Department. The role involves working closely with teachers and students across the disciplines of **Visual Arts, Music, and Drama**, ensuring materials and equipment are prepared, maintained, and available to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Supporting Teaching and Learning**
- Prepare and distribute materials and equipment for art lessons.
- Assist students during practical activities and help maintain a clean, safe workspace.
- Support teachers in sourcing and organising specialist resources.
- Ensure inventory is managed and re-stocked as needed.
**Classroom and Display Management**
- Maintain cleanliness and order in all Expressive Arts rooms.
- Mount and display student artwork across the school.
- Assist with exhibitions and installation of displays.
- Supervise students on independent projects when required.
**Performing Arts Support (Occasional)**
- Assist with the setup of music and drama equipment for events and performances.
- Provide technical support for sound, lighting, and staging during rehearsals and shows.
- Help with dismantling and storing equipment post-events.
**Team Collaboration and Operations**
- Collaborate with Expressive Arts staff on interdisciplinary projects.
- Communicate with the Facilities and Operations teams to coordinate technical requirements.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and creative learning environment.
**Health and Safety**
- Ensure compliance with school H&S; policies regarding equipment and materials.
- Conduct regular safety checks and report/resolve any issues.
- Guide students in safe working practices and attend relevant training.
**Professional Development**
- Engage in performance appraisal and professional learning opportunities.
- Contribute to department development by sharing ideas and best practices.
**Safeguarding**
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant experience in an arts, workshop, or technical theatre setting.
- Enjoys working with young people in a school environment.
- Is organised, practical, and collaborative.
- Has a working knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment used in Visual and Performing Arts.
- Can multitask and work independently while supporting a dynamic team.
