We are currently looking to hire an Anatomic Pathologist (m/f/d) on a part-time basis. In this role, you will diagnose disease in companion, large, and laboratory animals by examining body tissues, interpreting biopsies and cytological smears, and generating accurate reports in a timely manner, making clinicopathologic correlations useful to clinicians.
Main responsibilities:
1. Produce pathology (histopathologic and cytologic) reports according to current Antech best practices including microscopic description, microscopic findings, comments, and citing references when appropriate.
2. Finalize or preliminarily release reports in a prescribed format (i.e., narrative or synoptic report, Antech Oncopathology Advisory Panel case summaries) in compliance with the deadlines required by the service (exceptions will be made on an individual basis).
3. Achieve reading 50% of case load by 3 months from start date.
4. Participate in Antech Anatomic Pathology conferences, seminars, and rounds using Internet-based video conferencing.
5. Assist lab personnel in conjunction with specimen processing as needed.
6. Participate in digital pathology consultations with other Antech pathologists.
7. Engage in continuing education to stay current on new knowledge, methods, and standards as pertains to diagnostic veterinary pathology.
8. Participate in internal Quality Control procedures.
9. Contribute to the training of veterinary students, interns, and residents as interest and time allow.
10. Complete other duties as assigned, relevant to Anatomic Pathology, Antech, and Mars Veterinary Health.
Your Profile:
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) degree or equivalent.
2. Board certification or eligibility for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP) required.
3. Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the respective country.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Excellent teamwork skills, ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and management.
6. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Passion for helping animals and people.
8. Strong organization skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks.
10. Ability to work independently, including remotely, using various platforms to stay connected with colleagues, clients, and management.
11. Experience with dictation software, especially Dragon Medical Practice Edition, a plus.
12. Fluency in Spanish, good in English and/or Portuguese is a plus.
