Everything happens somewhere - which is why spatial analytics is fundamental to companies trying to understand the “where” and the “why” of their business. CARTO is the leading Location Intelligence platform empowering companies with scalable and cloud-native spatial analytics. CARTO helps organizations make better business decisions by providing data analysts, business analysts, GIS professionals, and developers with faster, more flexible, and more secure spatial data analysis and visualization tools. Whether through optimizing network planning, assessing risk, identifying growth opportunities, or other use cases, companies benefit from turning their location data into business value.
With an exceptionally diverse team of 150 people spread across the US and Europe, CARTO (backed by Insight Partners, Accel Partners, Salesforce Ventures, and Earlybird Ventures, among others) is transforming how companies analyze location data—making it simple to do so directly from modern, cloud data warehouses. Redefining its category, the company has experienced rapid growth in recent years, offering a compelling alternative to legacy GIS software.
To support this growth, the Data Science team is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and self-motivated Senior Data Scientist to work at the intersection of data science and GIS. The role involves developing new algorithms and derivative datasets that leverage the spatial nature of data to produce more accurate insights and predictions via CARTO’s spatial analytics platform. You will also collaborate with external clients to solve their spatial data science problems and contribute new functionalities to CARTO as a platform. A focus will be on adapting existing machine learning methods for spatial data and exploring new methods from spatial econometrics, machine learning, and Geospatial AI (GeoAI).
