POSITION SUMMARY
In this role, you’ll collaborate with other departments, such as Operations and Finance, to create effective business plans, so teamwork skills are important. You should also have experience in project management, as well as great leadership and communication ability. You will be responsible for developing a strategic approach for the corporate and materials purchasing, logistics and warehousing policies and procedures to develop a purchasing program for the entire Company.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Overseeing shipping methods such as air freight, trucking, rail, or marine transport
2. Oversee Brokers and Customs to ensure on time delivery every destination
3. Direct all activities for shipping and receiving
4. Creating plans for new facilities or improving existing facilities to meet current and future needs
5. Evaluating potential suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and customer service
6. Developing annual budgets and long-term strategic plans, including capital expenditures and labor needs
7. Reviewing reports regarding inventory levels and pricing strategies to ensure efficient use of resources
8. Monitoring all aspects of the supply chain to ensure that goals are being met
9. Establishing partnerships with suppliers and other business partners to develop new products or improve existing products
10. Managing a team of supply chain specialists who are responsible for planning and executing supply chain activities
11. Implementing new technologies to improve efficiency in the supply chain process
12. Develop, communicate, and manage procurement policies, procedures, and programs
13. Develop a centralized purchasing program that adds value and efficiency to the organization
14. Establish standards for and lead bid process and direct purchase process for entire organization to include manufacturing and corporate areas (machinery, raw goods, supplies, etc.) to include bid details, budget, cost analysis
15. Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
16. Maintain supply chain inventory and records
17. Train and guide employees
18. Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes
19. Resolve issues that come up (delays in delivery, accidents)
20. Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
% Bi-lingual, English & Spanish
Degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, or relevant field of emphasis
+ years relevant materials management & purchasing experience
Experience in international supply chains and managing teams in different geographic locations
Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques as well as operational systems and warehouse management
Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving
Excellent MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Exchange, Word) capabilities required
Strong written communication and presentation skills required
Solid analytical and computer skills
Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance
Experience with sourcing and procurement, building a comprehensive vendor program and driving a competitive vendor landscape
Applicant must have a valid US Passport or equivalent enabling extensive travel to various facility locations within the as well as suppliers and manufacturers abroad
