GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci), an MSC Group company, is one of the leading shipping companies in the Mediterranean Sea with a current fleet of 25 ships operating 31 lines in 7 countries.
Inside the QHSE department, we are looking for a QHSE Specialist, which will be the country reference point for their tasks.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
* Provide experience and knowledge regarding Health and Safety, Environment and Quality to the various operational Departments and assist them in the development of emergency plans, safety, environment and quality policies, risk assessments and the definition of Standards and Operational Procedures;
* Identify key processes to evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement, identifying and mitigating risks in collaboration with those responsible for operational processes, ensuring that they are constantly updated according to national regulatory developments and the relevant community regulations;
* Monitor the availability and quality of risk assessment and safety procedures provided by contracted companies ensuring that external companies, suppliers and visitors are managed by the various departments in compliance with company rules and procedures;
* Support analyzes of significant incidents and improve reporting of Near Misses, to ensure that incident analysis processes are applied;
* Monitor that training is provided by the relevant departments as required by the training plans and the skills matrix;
* Ensure and updating correct implementation of the Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality management system, in compliance with ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001;
* Identify, propose, update and supervise appropriate indicators to measure the trend of accidents, occupational diseases, participation in training and the implementation of corrective measures proposed following periodic audits;
* Carry out constant checks, inspections and internal audits in order to monitor that the measures envisaged in the Risk Assessment Document are correctly implemented and possibly identify the corrective measures to be proposed to the Managers for safety purposes and monitor their adoption and effective implementation within the defined times;
* Take care of the process of reviewing and updating the Risk Assessment Document following the introduction of new machines and/or equipment, the evolution of the regulatory framework and/or following changes to the company organisation.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a science related field.
* At least 3 years of experience in this position or a similar one.
* Lean background will be a must.
* Knowledge and experience of working with ISO management systems and auditing.
* Intermediate level of English.
