We are currently looking for an experienced Head Sommelier to join COYA. This is a seasonal position and is advertised for future openings.
Experience you will need:
* Certified sommelier or successfully completed equivalent of WSET, Level 3 preferred
* Solid knowledge of French and New World wines (South American and North American wines in particular advantageous)
* Attention to detail with good customer service
* Team player, proactive with a can-do attitude
* Ability to work under pressure
* Good command of English and Spanish, with confident communication skills
* Passion for personal development and working with people
* Ability to compose wine lists to maximize guest satisfaction, profit, and recognition
* Experience in managing wine stocks, sales, and lists according to company direction
* Strive to meet sales targets and ensure all staff are aware of targets, including monthly sales goals
* Review sales to ensure stock rotation and profitability; manage stock issues, transfers, wastages, and pricing
* Source wines and build relationships with suppliers
* Manage wine administration efficiently and keep records up-to-date
