CAREER OPENING: ASSISTANT HOTEL MANAGER | MARBELLA, SPAIN
Fuerte Group Hotels is searching for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Hotel Manager (Subdirector/a) to join our senior management team at our prestigious resort in Marbella, Spain. This is a key leadership role, supporting the General Manager (GM) in driving operational excellence and financial performance.
1. Position and Mission (ROLE DETAILS)
* Company: Fuerte Group Hotels (A family-owned group celebrating over 65 years of commitment to quality hospitality).
* Location: Marbella, Málaga, Spain.
* Mission: Support the GM in the strategic and operational management of the hotel. You will ensure compliance with brand standards, maximize profitability, and deliver exceptional guest satisfaction in a premier Spanish destination.
2. Essential Job Functions (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
Your leadership role covers operational, financial, and people management aspects of the hotel:
2.1. Operational & Quality Management
* First, assist the GM in overseeing the daily operations of all hotel departments (F&B, Rooms, Guest Relations, Maintenance).
* Drive quality assurance programs and ensure consistent adherence to the Fuerte Group’s high service standards and brand guidelines.
* Therefore, proactively anticipate and address operational challenges, ensuring seamless service delivery across the resort.
2.2. Financial Control & Strategy
* Monitor departmental budgets, analyze P&L statements, and implement cost-control measures.
* Furthermore, contribute to the development and execution of the annual business plan, focusing on revenue generation and profitability targets.
* Coordinate with the Finance and Sales departments to optimize pricing and market positioning.
2.3. Team Leadership & Guest Relations
* Lead, motivate, and mentor the Heads of Departments (HODs) and the wider hotel team, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
* Handle complex guest feedback, complaints, and recovery situations, acting as a final escalation point in the absence of the GM.
* Crucially, ensure compliance with all local labor laws, safety regulations, and internal policies within the property.
3. Candidate Profile (JOB REQUIREMENTS)
3.1. Qualifications & Experience
* Education: Degree in Hotel Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in hotel operations, with at least 2 years at an HOD level or as an Assistant General Manager in a 4- or 5-star property.
* Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of hotel financial statements, budgeting, and revenue management principles.
3.2. Language & Adaptability
* Language (MANDATORY): Absolute professional fluency in Spanish and English (both written and verbal) is required to operate effectively in Marbella’s international market.
