Junior Release Manager
Location
Malaga, Spain – Relocation mandatory
Responsibilities
* Release Management & CI/CD:
o Plan, coordinate, and manage software releases across multiple environments.
o Ensure stable and efficient CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
o Implement and enforce branching strategies (GitFlow, Trunk-Based Development).
o Manage Git repositories and scaffolding using Maven Archetype, Yeoman, or custom tools.
o Oversee Docker image creation and lifecycle using Docker, Jib, Kaniko, or Buildah.
* DevOps & Infrastructure:
o Operate and support Kubernetes-based environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
o Manage container orchestration, deployments, and rollbacks.
o Collaborate on infrastructure automation using Ansible and Python.
o Support networking and load‑balancing configurations (Nginx, F5, DNS managers, SSL certificates).
* Quality Assurance & Testing:
o Define and implement quality gates using SonarQube.
o Promote and support test automation best practices (TDD/BDD).
o Coordinate automated testing strategies including API, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
o Ensure compliance with release standards and quality requirements.
* Monitoring & Reliability:
o Monitor applications and infrastructure using Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Micrometer, and OpenTelemetry.
o Support incident management and operational excellence through monitoring and alerting solutions.
o Contribute to reliability and performance optimization initiatives.
* Agile Collaboration:
o Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), actively participating in ceremonies.
o Collaborate closely with development, QA, security, and operations teams.
o Use Jira or similar tools to manage release‑related tasks and dependencies.
Experience
* At least 2 years of professional experience in Release Management, DevOps, or related roles.
* Proven experience managing CI/CD pipelines and release processes in complex environments.
* Hands‑on experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
Technical Skills
* Agile frameworks: Scrum and Kanban.
* Git version control and branching strategies.
* CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
* Scripting: Ansible, Python.
* Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
* Programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, or C++.
* Quality assurance tools and gate implementation: SonarQube.
* Testing methodologies: TDD and BDD.
* Networking fundamentals, load balancers: Nginx, F5, DNS, SSL certificates.
* Monitoring and observability: Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana/Kibana, OpenTelemetry.
Languages
* Fluent in Spanish.
* Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
* Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
* Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
* Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
* API development and testing (Swagger, API Managers, Karate, Rest Assured).
* Security assurance tools: SAST (CodeQL, Semgrep, Kiuwan, Veracode); DAST (BurpSuite); Container security (Trivy, Clair); Front‑end testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress); Time‑series databases (InfluxDB, Graphite); AIOps tools (Rundeck, PagerDuty, Dynatrace); Pipeline orchestration tools (Appian, QlikSense, Control‑M).
