Overview
UNICC seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join our Platform Operations Unit. The primary purpose of this position is to operate, maintain and troubleshoot systems, services, configurations, and core applications deployed within the Infrastructure and Platform Operations Unit.
Responsibilities include participating in planning and development of new features;
proactive management ofthe environments as well as the forecasting of capacity needs;
assisting with the deployment of new applications and services;
working with other teams and play a key role in optimizing services.
On‑Call Rotation
The position has a 24×7 support requirement, so the incumbent must be willing, able, and available to participate in a regular on‑call rotation, work a versátil schedule, and respond to out‑of‑band emergencies when the need arises.
Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems within an enterprise-server environment.
Maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, bug fixes, and operating systems upgrades.
Identify areas of enhancement and deploy automated processes to minimize human intervention.
Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot system errors and client system issues.
Define and implement security best practices and hardening of the Linux Server and related technologies.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualified Experience
Minimum of 4 years of Linux systems administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
Experience using Red Hat Satellite, or an equivalent tool, to centrally manage servers in an enterprise environment
Experience with patching, updating and bug remediation for Linux OS and third‑party applications.
Bash Scripting
Knowledge of Windows and Active Directory Operating System.
Knowledge of Virtualization platform such as VMWare, Hyper‑V
Scripting expertise and knowledgeable on automation tools
Experience or basic knowledge of Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Fulfillment support.
