About The Job Based at the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca within the Food and Beverage Department, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will assume full responsibility for all related operational, administrative and financial aspects of the designated restaurant(s). The Assistant Restaurant Manager reports to the Restaurant Manager.
Responsibilities include:
Support the Outlet Manager in overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of the outlet and prioritize engagement based on business volumes and related parameters.
Assume full responsibility in the absence of the Outlet Manager for all operational and administrative tasks.
Enforce and monitor that all operational standards, policies, SOPs and quality measures are in place at all times.
Identify areas for improvement in service and food & beverage quality by reviewing service quality audit reports, guest comment cards and guest incident reports, and formulate action plans with the respective Chef de cuisine.
Handle customer complaints verbally or in writing.
Assist in planning and executing special promotional activities for the outlet and festive-season events.
Assist in other outlets if required.
Attend and participate in all required meetings.
Ensure staff are aware of local laws and license requirements for serving alcohol and practice responsible service.
Maintain an overview of POS setups and regularly check item accuracy.
Monitor and manage the TMS system for the outlets.
Follow Jardine accounting related procedures for the outlets.
Provide leadership, direction and support to all colleagues at all times.
Train, evaluate and schedule colleagues in accordance with applicable standards and business requirements.
Ensure MOMAL grooming and appearance standards are maintained to reflect professionalism.
Prepare a weekly roster to schedule colleagues effectively within budgeted labour costs and headcounts.
Monitor guest requirements and ensure customer satisfaction from arrival to departure in line with MOHG Quality Experiences (LQEs) and MOQA service standards.
Build professional, meaningful relationships with guests and inspire colleagues to create memorable moments (MOWOWs).
Experience and education Degree in Hospitality Management or similar.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience leading teams in Food & Beverage departments.
Experience in luxury hospitality.
Technical Skills Ability to understand guest needs and deliver superior customer service, through personal initiative and team leadership.
Ability to work long hours with a focus on operational excellence.
Experience with restaurant POS and cashiering procedures.
Extremely organized with strong administrative capability.
Proven ability to lead a large and diverse team and to use performance management systems.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
