We are looking for a Commercial & Financial Controller to join our team in Madrid and take on a global, transversal Finance/Controlling role with responsibility for commercial controlling and corporate financial coordination across international entities.
This is a high-impact position for a finance professional who enjoys combining analytical depth, business understanding and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced multinational environment.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a professional with strong expertise in commercial controlling, financial analysis and accounting, who can ensure the reliability, consistency and quality of financial information related to sales, pricing, margins, Capex, R&D investments and structural expenses.
The challenge!
- Analyze sales, pricing, margins and profitability by country, customer and product.
- Perform price reconciliations in both Tender and Non-Tender environments.
- Identify deviations versus Budget and Forecast, and propose improvement actions.
- Execute the monthly consolidated financial closing based on submissions from international entities.
- Ensure financial accuracy, detect inconsistencies and define corrective actions.
- Lead Budget and Forecast processes in line with Group requirements.
- Support entities during financial planning preparation and consolidate financial information.
- Analyze Capex projects and R&D investments, monitoring commitments and evaluating returns and key financial indicators.
- Monitor structural costs by department and identify operational deviations, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure alignment of international entities with Corporate deadlines, policies and ad hoc requirements.
- Maintain and promote the correct use of finance systems and reporting tools such as SAP, BW, QlikView, BPC and other reporting solutions.
- Work closely with Corporate Finance, Plant Directors, Commercial Management, R&D, Operations and Controlling teams.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of finance processes and policies.
- Provide financial validation and constructive challenge on pricing decisions, investment proposals and budget deviations within defined thresholds.
- Present financial results, key deviations, risks and opportunities to senior management when required.
- Lead, coordinate and develop a team of 3–4 controllers.
What do you need?
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics or a similar field.
- Strong experience in Commercial Controlling and financial analysis.
- At least 3–4 years of specific experience in pricing analysis and margin management, including Tender and Non-Tender environments.
- Solid and demonstrable accounting background, including financial accounting and reconciliation processes.
- Deep understanding of industrial and commercial business models.
- Good understanding of Capex, R&D and cost structures.
- Advanced Excel and expert use of Office tools.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as BW, QlikView, BPC and Power BI.
- Previous broader experience in accounting and finance roles will be highly valued.
- Experience working in multinational environments.
- Fluent English.
