Role Summary
The Supervisor Supplier Analyst is responsible for overseeing the performance, health, and operational excellence of a large and diverse supplier portfolio (approx. 200 suppliers) while supervising and mentoring Supplier Analysts. This is a hybrid leadership and hands‑on role that combines supplier performance management, data‑driven insights, and risk‑based prioritization with day‑to‑day analyst responsibilities.
The role operates at the intersection of Category Management, Supplier Management, and Business Units, ensuring alignment to general sourcing strategies, compliance standards, and business continuity objectives. While accountable for supervisory oversight, the Supervisor Supplier Analyst remains actively involved in analytics, supplier engagement, and escalation management.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Strategy Planning & Execution
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory oversight of the supplier analyst activities within the assigned category portfolio.
- Manage and actively contribute to oversight of a portfolio of ~200 suppliers, ensuring alignment with defined Supplier Plans.
- Analyze spend, performance, and risk data to support Supplier Managers and Category Management in supplier segmentation, prioritization, and strategy refinement.
- Identify trends and opportunities for spend consolidation and efficiency improvements; present recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Coordinate targeted supplier development activities, collaborating closely with Supplier Technicians where required.
- Ensure baseline compliance with contractual agreements and supplier‑specific terms, aligned with Flowserve policies and procedures.
- Schedule, lead, and/or support supplier engagements and business reviews based on KPI performance and risk levels.
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and service levels to safeguard business continuity.
- Escalate performance, compliance, or risk concerns through appropriate governance channels.
Supplier Health & Performance Management
- Supervise and contribute to the management of supplier relationships, focusing on performance health, continuous improvement, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and act on supplier performance related to delivery, quality, cost, and competitiveness.
- Partner with Supplier Technicians to manage supplier risk, including maintenance of risk elements in the Supply Chain Risk App for high‑risk suppliers.
- Coordinate supplier escalations and mitigation actions through established escalation frameworks.
- Ensure accurate master data, stakeholder visibility, and effective communication channels across the supplier ecosystem.
- Analyze aggregate supplier load versus business demand to proactively identify capacity constraints or bottlenecks, proposing alternative sourcing options where needed.
Operational Support & Governance
- Act as a senior escalation point for routine issues, coordinating resolution with sites, business units, Supplier Technicians, and Category Management.
- Support issue resolution by gathering data, facilitating structured communication, and ensuring timely follow‑up actions.
- Drive business continuity and supplier responsiveness by focusing on high‑impact and critical suppliers.
- Ensure consistent governance and supplier performance visibility across multiple business units sharing suppliers.
- Consolidate escalations from MORs and performance reviews, translating them into defined actions for the supplier ecosystem.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support Supplier Analysts to ensure consistent execution of processes, data quality, and stakeholder engagement.
- Prioritize work allocation across the supplier portfolio based on risk, impact, and business needs.
- Act as a role model for data‑driven decision‑making, stakeholder communication, and supplier management best practices.
- Support knowledge sharing, capability building, and continuous improvement within the Supplier Analyst team.
Main Objectives
For the assigned supplier portfolio:
- Execute Supplier Plans in line with category strategy.
- Coordinate and perform data‑driven activities with Supplier Technicians.
- Monitor supplier ecosystem performance and initiate mitigating actions where required.
- Ensure baseline contractual coverage and compliance.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and prioritize critical suppliers.
- Drive spend consolidation opportunities aligned with strategic sourcing goals.
- Coordinate escalations and resolutions for high‑risk and underperforming suppliers.
Your Profile
- 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Supplier Management, or Procurement.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to operate across commercial and technical supply chain environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with negotiation and influencing skills.
- Solid project management capability.
- Experience working with complex supplier ecosystems within a defined category.
- Understanding of market dynamics and supplier risk management.
- Strong analytical skills, including collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (preferred).
- Willingness to travel for supplier and business engagements.
- Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Prior informal or formal leadership/supervisory experience is a strong advantage.
