**Cambridge House Community College** is a highly distinguished British international school and was the first in Spain to gain both BSO (British School Overseas) and NABSS (National Association for British Schools in Spain) accreditation.
Founded more than 30 years ago in **Valencia (East Spain)**, this progressive school with strong family values and delivering the English National Curriculum now has 1,700 students and has evolved to meet the needs of modern learners. Students aged three to 18 attend the school and follow the National English Early Years Framework and the English National Curriculum. Year 12 and 13 students take A-levels and gain accreditation for the Spanish Baccalaureate and can also choose to follow a Higher National Diploma (HND) route, providing vocational pathways.
We wish to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic specialist** Secondary SEN Teacher** to our successful and expanding school. The successful applicant will work as a key member of the Inclusion Department. They will work directly with the Whole-School SENCo, Form Tutors and Subject Teachers to create, implement and assess Individual Education Plans (IEPs). In addition to providing in-class support, the Secondary SEN Teacher will also plan and teach one-to-one and small-group interventions for pupils with a range of special educational needs. High quality record keeping relating to the assessment of individual pupil progress and reporting to parents and the SENCo on a regular basis will be a key requirement of this role.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- A P.G.C.E. or equivalent educational qualification
- Experience of teaching the British National Curriculum and pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Continuous professional development or additional qualifications related to teaching pupils with special educational needs.
- Proficient level of English (Mother tongue / C2)
- An up to date knowledge of current inclusive educational developments.
**SECONDARY SEN TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Lead by example to uphold the school’s mission statement and promote the school’s values of: CURIOSITY, KINDNESS, ENTHUSIASM, COMMUNITY SPIRIT & PERSEVERANCE
- Work collaboratively with Secondary members of staff and the other members of the Inclusion Team.
- Plan, create, implement and assess Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and report progress to parents and the Whole-School SENCo.
- Plan, teach and assess individual and small-group support sessions for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
- Provide in-class support for pupils in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
- Meet regularly with the Whole-School SENCo to discuss the needs, progress and assessments of the pupils they teach.
- Provide teachers with guidance, advice and resources to ensure individual pupils' needs are met in all lessons.
- Provide parents with termly written and verbal feedback about their child’s progress and areas for development related to their IEP targets.
- Undertake all other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Leadership and Management Team
