Position Overview
The “Product & Technology Knowledge Specialist – HVAC EMEA” plays a key role in enabling the HVAC EMEA Product Team to effectively share their expertise with sales channels, driving business growth and market expansion. This role requires close collaboration with product management, marketing, engineering, sales, technical literature developers, and other teams to develop high-quality, customized HVAC content.
Reporting to the “Product & Technology Knowledge Manager – HVAC EMEA”, this position will directly impact revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and market leadership. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. HVAC Content Development and Product Portal
* Own the development of Key Wins (internal audience) and customer reference cases (external audience) for successful projects, maintaining a repository in the product portal (Solution Navigator). These cases should provide detailed explanations of projects where cost was a key factor, innovation played a critical role, a unique combination of products from different business lines contributed to success, or the project involved a renowned customer or an iconic facility. The goal is to create insightful, structured references, white papers and success stories editorials that offer valuable learnings for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Support HVAC competitive benchmarking and assist in the creation of battlecards in collaboration with product management, which leads this initiative.
* Assist in the creation of literature materials (marketing: brochures, catalogs, promotional videos; technical: engineering guide, installation manuals, etc.) by working with subject matter experts.
* Support regional marketing initiatives, including LinkedIn posts, and creation of digital content (articles, videos, infographics) to be used in professional social media.
* Content owner support for the Solution Navigator portal, ensuring up-to-date and accessible product and technology information.
* Support access and usage of Solution Navigator portal for Direct and Indirect sales channels.
* Identify and support the creation of additional Solution Navigator portal capabilities to enhance the user experience and drive business growth.
* 2. HVAC Training & Knowledge Sharing
* Develop and deliver effective presentations to communicate HVAC knowledge to sales channels.
* Support product management in facilitating face-to-face and virtual training sessions. Continuously develop and enhance product and solution trainings including “Sales Builder” in cooperation with Learning & Development (L&D) team.
* Create and present short technical lessons (e.g., fundamentals of water pumps) through internal communication channels (e.g., Business calls and newsletters). These training materials should be engaging and relevant, ensuring the audience can apply the knowledge gained in their daily work.
* Recommend and highlight relevant webinars, podcasts, and YouTube training videos to enhance industry knowledge.
3. HVAC Selection Software Support
* Assist in the transition to upgraded tools for both Direct and Indirect sales channels across the EMEA region.
* Support the implementation of new selection software tools.
* Support access and usage selection tools for Direct and Indirect sales channels.
4. HVAC Internal Communications
* Develop and distribute the EMEA Product Newsletter (EPN) to ensure clear and consistent messaging across Johnson Controls teams.
* Support and participation in Product Informative Calls ensuring visibility and information exchange across business units, fostering a collaborative environment.
* Partner with product management, sales, marketing, and operations teams to align strategies, messaging, and objectives.
5. Cross-Functional, Proactive & Results-Driven Approach
* Serve as the liaison between sales, marketing and product management ensuring seamless execution of initiatives. Regularly collect VOC from all relative and involved teams.
* Take initiative and demonstrate strong ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
* Continuously seek opportunities to improve sales processes, campaigns, and content to enhance effectiveness.
* Execute tasks efficiently, ensuring high-quality deliverables and meeting deadlines.
Position Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferably Thermomechanical or a related field within the HVAC industry.
* 3-5 years of experience in technical or marketing role within HVAC sector.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to create compelling content and present ideas effectively.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI for data analysis are a plus.
* Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere) is beneficial.
* Experience in analyzing technical marketing data and publications.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Marketing, Engineering, Service, and Sales teams.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven with a passion for excellence.
Location & Travel
* Ideally based in Madrid, Spain or UK&I, Germany, Italy and BeneLux with occasional travel within the EMEA region as required.
