**Roles &
Responsibilities**
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Chemist to support our Polyurethane (PU) foaming operations. This role is critical in ensuring product consistency, driving formulation innovation, and strengthening our in-house testing capabilities. The selected candidate will operate within a multinational technical team, contributing both locally and globally to product development and laboratory excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulation Development:
- Adapt, modify, and optimize PU open cell formulations based on operational and product performance needs.
- Ensure consistent quality and performance aligned with corporate standards and customer requirements.
Laboratory Support:
- Lead the development of foam-specific laboratory capabilities, including test method definition, equipment setup, and data interpretation.
- Contribute to broader lab activities across material types when needed.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance with production regarding PU foaming issues.
- Interface with Spanish R&D team to align on formulation and testing protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Assist the Purchasing Department in evaluating and qualifying raw materials (polyols, isocyanates, additives).
- Liaise with suppliers and technical experts to identify and validate new raw materials or technologies.
Global Standards & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support development projects for major footwear and apparel brands, considering their technical and compliance requirements.
Qualifications/Requirement
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in PU foam production, ideally in open-cell systems.
- Proven track record working under technical specifications from major international footwear/apparel brands.
- Experience with foam testing methods (compression set, hardness, rebound, density, etc.) and lab instrumentation.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken), especially for communication with the global team.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret technical data and recommend actionable improvements.
- Experience in PU foam applications for footwear (preferably insoles or midsoles).
- Experience in PU foaming for the furniture industry is also valued.
- Background in foam testing laboratory development or process setup.
- Familiarity with rebound foam processes or foam/fabric lamination technologies.
- Understanding of industry-specific regulatory and sustainability requirements.
- Previous collaboration with multi-site R&D teams in a global matrix structure.
- Report to Technical Manager (Vietnam) | Functionally to Global Laboratory Group (Spain)
